Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Provide compassionate care to individuals with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Support mobility by assisting with transfers and heavy lifting when necessary.
Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff.
Engage patients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills
Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and respect for individual needs.
Previous experience with palliative clients is an asset.
Proficient in meal preparation that meets dietary restrictions.
Ability to maintain cleanliness in patient areas and adhere to hygiene standards.
Previous experience in nursing homes or assisted living environments is preferred.
Capable of performing heavy lifting as required for patient mobility support.
Understanding of caregiving principles, particularly for individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
Familiarity with hospice care practices is an asset.
