Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients by delivering personalized care with professionalism and empathy. Prior experience in senior care, dementia care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Duties
Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide patient care including monitoring vital signs and observing health changes
Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed
Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a hygienic environment
Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
Support clients with dementia or disabilities by implementing specialized care techniques
Document care provided accurately in compliance with facility policies
Skills
Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
Knowledge of patient care procedures, medication administration, and caregiving best practices
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve clients’ quality of life
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
Basic skills in meal preparation and light cleaning are advantageous
Familiarity with dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus .
Qualifications & Requirements
Certified Health Care Aide (recognized in Alberta)
Valid First Aid & CPR (Level C)
Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Previous home care experience is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Access to reliable transportation is an asset
