HCA for Ophthalmology OPD across BMEC and Sandwell
We are looking for motivated and committed people who want to provide the highest standard of care whilst ensuring patients are treated with dignity, compassion and respect as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) across a range of specialities. Full time/ part-time hours will be considered for this post.
We would welcome applications from Level 2 qualified as we could offer the opportunity of development in completing the Level 3 during your employment. Please note a minimum of a Level 2 is required.

Under the supervision of a registered nurse you will undertake agreed duties demonstrating the level of competence and professionalism required as a participating team member to deliver high quality care.

You will be required to hold a Care Certificate/NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care within an agreed time-scale.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2026 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2026 (or beyond). If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continuing your application with this understanding. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
