The Opportunity
ILAC International High School in Vancouver is a new and exciting chapter and a part of ILAC Education Group. ILAC International High School was created with the goal of helping students who are looking to experience high school education abroad in Canada to build confidence, maturity, and a skill set that will give them endless opportunities to grow. We believe that a diverse classroom experience and improving academic English skills are the keys to success. We are committed to providing the support and expertise to make a difference and guarantee an international experience for our students.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced high school teacher to join our team and inspire students to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
We are a reputable school that is preparing generations of students in Vancouver to be equipped for university, college, career, and life's successes. If you are a qualified secondary school teacher you could be part of a nurturing, engaging, community-centred school environment, this is the right school for you.
Classes begin in September 2026 following a short teacher orientation in late August 2026.
Compensation: Starting at $64,000+ annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities:
Bring a student-centered, inquiry based, and collaborative approach to the delivery of the BC Modernized Curriculum. (Grades 10-12)
Create a positive and supportive culture for learning
Work as a collaborative across the school to enhance the classroom and co-curricular experience.
Prepare robust lesson plans, assessments & evaluations per the Growing Success document
Possess a keen interest in fostering diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice to promote a healthy learning environment.
Engage in positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Qualifications:
Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate of Qualification or Independent School teaching certificate.
Relevant post-secondary education in a related field.
Experience as a Social Studies and English teacher at the senior level
Experience as an English as a second language teacher an asset
Commitment to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
A collaborative and energetic approach to teaching
An awareness of varied learning styles, the importance of core competencies, and the value of First Peoples Principles of Learning
