Community-Based Care Assistant
We are looking to recruit either Full or Part Time Community Support Workers / Care Assistants to support our clients in Sidcup, Bexley and the surrounding areas.
This role would be ideally suited for people with previous care experience who are owner drivers living locally to Sidcup.
Ideal candidates should possess a professional, caring, reliable manner and a desire to make a difference.
This Care Assistant position is subject to special conditions:
• Flexible working, as evenings and weekend work is required
• DBS Check
• Full UK Driving Licence
What does the role involve?
As a Community Support Worker, you will be required to support our clients in their own homes with their daily living needs enabling them to remain safe and independent in their own homes.
Each client is individual and each person has different needs, you may need to support with some or all of the following:-
To provide personal care and support to clients with a wide range of needs, illness and disabilities
To assist clients to wash, bath or shower
To assist clients to dress and undress in the clothes of their choice
To know and understand the care and support of the client
To undertake the tasks detailed in the client's care and support plan using a person-centred approach and in a caring respective way
To encourage independence and motivation
To prepare food and drink for our clients, being aware of the clients choice, likes/dislikes allergies nutritional needs and cultural requirements
To provide companionship to the client, actively talking and listening to them about their interests
To provide light general household domestic duties
To provide input into the care and support plans of clients by regularly feeding back to your line manager
Maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
Sometimes you will be working with a colleague or on your own, depending on the client’s needs.
As you will be travelling from client to client you will need your own car
