Qualifications
Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain
Successful completion of Level II background screening
Must complete 12 hours yearly of education
Must hold and maintain a current Florida CNA certificate
Experience: Must meet unit-specific care requirements
Language: Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language
Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license and car insurance
Must have reliable transportation
Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks
Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range
Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients/equipment up to +0% of the assigned shift
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to +0% of assigned shift
Basic understanding of Hospice philosophy – ability to work with terminally ill patients
Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding
Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities
Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations
Must have emotional stability to cope with loss and end of life issues frequently
Responsibilities

Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural and individual differences
Responds to call light in a timely manner, when assigned to work in the Hospice House
Potential for exposure to bio hazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases
Flexibility in work schedule to cover other areas of Hospice services (field, inpatient unit, respite/crisis care)
Able to prepare simple meals and perform basic housekeeping tasks

POSITION SUMMARY:
