Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage comprehensive HR programs, including compensation, benefits, employee development, and performance management.
• Oversee the management of HR records, ensuring the effective handling of payroll processes and compliance with federal regulations.
• Administer the performance management system, collaborating with managers on competencies and evaluations.
• Partner with executive leadership to design and implement tailored training and development programs that align with organizational objectives.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations while updating policies as necessary.
• Enhance company culture through active communication with employees, conducting surveys, and implementing feedback-driven initiatives.
• Tackle employee relations matters, providing support to managers in disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
• Direct the recruitment process, developing innovative sourcing strategies in collaboration with hiring managers.
• Research, design, and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs tailored to our organizational needs.
• Work alongside the President/CFO to manage staffing budgets and other human capital-related costs.
• Stay abreast of emerging HR trends, regulations, and technologies through continuous professional development.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 8-10+ years of experience in HR management, with a strong focus on strategic talent management and business development.
• Preferred professional certifications such as SHRM or HCRI.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, particularly in the VA, DC, and MD regions.
• High ethical standards and a customer-oriented approach.
• Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficient organizational, time-management, and detail-oriented skills.
• Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to swiftly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
