The HR Advice Advisor for India reports to the Country Operations Manager. The role supports all areas of HR Advice consisting of over 1300 local and virtual line managers. The role will be part of a well-connected HR Advice India community with a dynamic and multi-talented group of colleagues to work with hand in hand across multiple locations in India and Malaysia.
What's the role
The HR Advice Advisor (HRA) for India is accountable for the delivery of the full range of HR Advice support to local and virtual Line Managers of the employee base in India, the second-largest country for Shell in terms of the employee population, and still growing. As the HR Advice Advisor, you will be responsible for creating great line manager experiences through pro-actively addressing line manager’s needs. More specifically, you will partner with the Country Operations Manager to ensure the effectiveness of ways of working between Shell Business Operations (SBO) and other Shell entities. This role will provide:
Change management support and end-to-end guidance on HR matters (eg: Performance Management, ER/IR matters, Policy & Benefit etc) to Line Manager
providing coaching to junior colleagues within the HR Advice outfit.
Actively provide insights from case handling that can contribute to the development of potential intervention or CI initiatives (global/local) aimed at improving people management and overall business performance.
Focus on continuously improving line managers experience through services being provided, geared towards addressing line manager’s needs and unlocking productivity of the workforce
Opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in HR to support the HR agenda and align with the business strategy
This role will be the ‘face of HR’ to many of our workforces.
What we need from you
A seasoned HR professional who has a good understanding of the role that HR plays in supporting the business and has a strong belief in the ability to provide excellent high-value virtual HR support; in supporting line managers with HR-related matters, as well as through delivery and execution of HR processes supporting employees HR life-cycle events (e.g. hiring, transfers). Furthermore, you will have:
8-13 years of proven experience in effective business partnering with a range of stakeholders across all levels
Solid understanding of how HR adds value to the business, supporting line managers with HR-related matters ideally experienced business-facing roles in the past
Good analytical skills and experience in performance management, coaching, investigation, change management, ER/IR, and policy & benefits.
Knowledge/experience using Workday, Salesforce, and SAP
Ideally those with leadership skills and the ability to motivate, grow and develop individuals as well as manage potential risks (eg: license to operate, change management, governance, legalities)
Experience with strategic implementation of projects would be an added advantage
Collaboration/integrative behaviour (with others, with other parts of HR, with other functions, etc.)
Coaching skills and with Ownership; end-to-end accountability for resolution
