About the role
We're looking for skilled and motivated HR Business Partners to join our team, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality People & Culture support across the business.
Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, you will provide end-to-end HR advice and services, supporting everything from day-to-day operational matters to the delivery of strategic initiatives. This is a great opportunity to take ownership and work closely with senior leaders, helping shape people practices that align with business goals and support our districts.

About the Team/Service/Location
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative People and Culture team, where partnership is at the heart of how we work. In this role, you will work closely with managers and employees across your assigned portfolios to understand their HR needs, provide practical guidance, and help them navigate both everyday matters and bigger strategic initiatives. Whether it's supporting the implementation of new policies, contributing to change and transformation programmes, or managing employee relations, you'll play an active role in enabling positive outcomes for both people and the organisation.
You will also work alongside a wider team of experienced HR Business Partners and subject matter experts across the People and Culture function - sharing knowledge, collaborating on best practice, and ensuring we deliver a seamless, flexible, and high-value HR service. You are a people-focused HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, working collaboratively, and finding practical solutions that make a real difference. With a solid foundation in generalist HR, you are confident navigating a busy workload and contributing to meaningful outcomes. You enjoy variety in your day, you're comfortable working with change, and you're always keen to learn and grow.
Here's what you'll bring to the role
An HR/Business/Psychology degree, or significant relevant HR/OD experience
Minimum of 5-8 years experience as an HR Business Partner / Generalist in a complex organisation.
Practical and demonstrated working knowledge of New Zealand employment and health sand safety legislation, employment relations and industrial relations experience
Have experience in a complex and or unionised environment
Demonstrated knowledge of the NZ Health Sector (desired)
Leadership and management - the ability to think and act strategically, inspire others, and contribute to building engaged, high-performing teamsPlanning and direction - strong oversight of your responsibilities, with the ability to contribute to strategies, plan and prioritise work, and deliver results across both short- and long-term objectives
Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgement - you're confident making decisions, staying organised, meeting deadlines, and using initiative in a changing environment
Communication and relationship effectiveness - confident and clear communication skills, with the ability to influence, present persuasively, and build lasting relationships that support sustainable outcomes
