Job Description
Purpose
The HR Business Partner is accountable for creating and implementing the people strategy for the Commercial India team to enable the achievement of financial, operating and strategic business plans and objectives. This role will provide HR excellence at a strategic level to ensure that we attract, retain, engage and develop our talent.
The HR Business Partner role is even more important at SHL due to our position in the Human Capital Management marketplace. We are market innovators in our field and as such need to drive adoption of our own solutions and finest practice both internally and across the wider HR community.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Strategic Business Partnership and Leadership & Management Guidance
• Create and drive the people agenda for the Commercial India org and ensure global alignment with the overall SHL people plan.
• Build believed, cross cultural relationships and collaborate with staff, managers and Directors to drive the delivery of the business and people strategies.
• Embed our core values of strong connections, curiosity, fearless innovation and impact in all of our people practices assisting the cultural transformation of the business and driving improvements in engagement and recognition.
• Partner with the Regional / Functional Authority teams in defining and implementing strategic organizational design/redesign initiatives and other HR interventions that enable or enhance the achievement of business objectives.
• Guide talent planning and management activities, using our own SHL products and solutions where appropriate, to identify and address local country and regional talent issues and critical strategic priorities e.g. attraction, retention and development of top talent and succession planning.
• In collaboration with the local managers, drive a high-performance culture focusing on coaching, performance management.
• Coach and develop agile and experienced guides who can guide through continuous change whilst engaging their teams.
• Represent the “voice of the business” to the HR function including the Centers of Excellence & HR Business Partnering teams and vice versa.
• Encourage the status quo and regional variations to know business issues.
• Implement and drive engagement of global projects and annual processes at a regional and functional level.
• Be the “voice of our products” in the external marketplace – advocate the use of our own products and solutions
• Guide and resolve elaborate staff relations issues that have been escalated to the highest standards of integrity
• Plan and Initiate Staff Engagement activities and ensure coverage as per norms across teams.
HR Projects
• Assist diversity and inclusion projects in line with India Region.
• In collaboration with the wider HR team, assist the design and implementation of change management initiatives
• Other duties as assigned
Experience
The successful candidate will likely have professional experience and personal attributes that include:
• Proven experience of HR strategy creation and execution
• Proven experience in assisting a commercial / go-to-market organization
• Business acumen to translate strategy into practical HR initiatives
• Pragmatic and solutions orientated approach
• Strong team player with the ability to work well across reporting lines, with a globally dispersed and matrixed HR team
• Excellent professionalism, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills within a global organization.
• Willingness to draw conclusions, decide and initiate action and defend a point of view.
• Experience to operate freely in times of ambiguity and change
• Effective coaching and facilitation skills at all levels of a commercial organization.
• Experience to evaluate and diagnose the root cause of talent issues.
• Attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
• Proficient in using Sage or other HRIS.
• Fluency (written and verbal) in English (business level).
• Interpretation of data and drive relevant recommendations.
