We are looking for an experienced Senior HR practitioner with a proven successful track record working in a complex environment/organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, and able to work collaboratively. Proficiency in employee engagement, employment law, and best practices, as well as the ability to deliver impactful HR initiatives and manage relationships in a unionized context, is required.
What the Job Involves
As an HR Business Partner at the London Borough of Lewisham, you'll co-ordinate and lead a team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused HR services across Council directorates. You'll advise on employment legislation, support workforce planning, and tackle complex employee relations including organizational change such as restructuring and TUPE. You're responsible for day-to-day operations in employee relations, contributing to HR strategy and policy, driving improvement through data and metrics, and delivering training and development initiatives. The role involves building strong relationships with trade unions and other stakeholders, managing HR metrics, and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. You'll work closely with the Directorate Leadership teams and the Strategic HR Business Partner to align HR strategies with business goals, fostering an inclusive work environment. This temporary role demands flexibility with attendance at evening meetings and occasional work beyond standard hours.
