About the role

Be the Driving Force Behind People Strategy – Join Us as an HR Business Partner!

Are you a strategic HR professional ready to make a real impact on some of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure and defence projects? We’re looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner to join our team and help shape the future of our people and performance across major programmes – including the landmark Hinkley Point C (MEH Alliance).
What you'll be doing

As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you’ll play a key role in delivering our people strategy and driving business success. You’ll:

Provide expert HR support across our Hinkley Point C operations, defence portfolio, and Work Winning function.
Collaborate with Directors and senior stakeholders to define and implement people plans aligned with business goals.
Lead on talent management, succession planning, and workforce development to build high-performing teams.
Support key project bids and transitions, ensuring HR is embedded from the outset.
Contribute to strategic programmes like “Building a High-Performing Future” within the MEH Alliance.
Leverage the wider Balfour Beatty HR network to deliver impactful, joined-up solutions.

Who we're looking for

We’re after someone who thrives in complexity and brings a strong track record of influencing at senior levels. You’ll need:

Proven experience in complex, matrix organisations and leading organisational change.
A background in shaping and delivering HR strategies that drive performance and transformation.
Strong project management skills and a solid understanding of employee relations and organisational design.
The ability to coach, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders with confidence and emotional intelligence.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across diverse functions.

This is more than a typical HR role – it’s a chance to be part of something bigger. You’ll help shape the future of UK infrastructure, work alongside inspiring leaders, and grow your career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Why work for us

Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

Why join us?

As if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn’t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too. You’ll have the freedom to shape the package that’s right for you and your life. Here are some of our key benefits:

Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working, where roles allow.
25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
Family friendly policies which include 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partners leave
Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more…
