Recruitment and Selection: The HR Generalist is responsible for recruiting and selecting qualified candidates for open positions within the organization. This includes job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and coordinating with hiring managers.
Employee Relations: The HR Generalist is responsible for managing employee relations within the organization, including addressing employee concerns and grievances, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Performance Management: The HR Generalist is responsible for implementing and managing performance management programs within the organization, including performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, and recognition programs.
Benefits Administration: The HR Generalist is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
Compliance: The HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employment, including anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, and other employment-related laws.
Training and Development: The HR Generalist is responsible for developing and implementing training and development programs for employees, including new employee orientation, on-the-job training, and leadership development programs.
HR Administration: The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, managing HR systems and databases, and ensuring all HR-related documentation is properly filed and stored.
To be successful in this role, an HR Generalist should have a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is typically required, along with relevant work experience in HR. Additionally, HR certification, such as the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), is often preferred.
