Responsibilities
The HR Managers particular areas of focus for this position are attorney and staff recruitment and retention, associate development, and team cohesion and connection
Day-to-day HR responsibilities include
Leading the firm's staffing, recruiting and retention strategy
Overseeing the performance management and compensation processes for attorneys and staff
Supporting current and future Firm needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of our team, including team events
Handle firm payroll and benefits, including 401(k) plans
Overseeing policy development, employee handbook updates, and distribution of these items to employees on an as-needed basis
Serving as an employee advocate and point of contact for human resources matters, practice development goals, and concerns
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
Communicating with partners and management regarding HR issues and recommendations, including attending weekly management committee meetings

• Communicating with partners and management regarding HR issues and recommendations, including attending weekly management committee meetings
Desired Skills And Training
• Common technology and software skills (Microsoft including word, excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, electronic signatures, calendaring via outlook, setting up Zoom/Teams meetings, etc.)
• Supervisory HR experience is required (HR director, manager, or similar); law firm or professional services experience is a plus
• Experience with payroll processing, knowledge of applicable rules and regulations, experience using a PEO is a plus
• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
• People oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback
• Forward-thinking problem-solver with a “people first” attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent active listening skills
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
