We are seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our team based out of Nedlands, however will also involve supporting the team at Westcare Industries in Bassendean. The position provides generalist human resources support to Westcare managers and employees, and will expand to supported employees.

About the Role
The HR Officer role is pivotal in the development, implementation and effectiveness of human resources policies and practices. This includes support with recruitment and onboarding, employee development, performance management, complaints management, policy development, and record keeping.
The HR Officer is responsible for:
The recruitment, selection, and appointment of new employees, in liaison with department managers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to: reviewing position descriptions, placing advertisements, assisting with interviews, and preparing employment contracts.
Promote and monitor compliance with internal and external employee skills, licencing, and qualification requirements and provide advice to line managers regarding appropriate training.
Monitor the implementation of internal performance management policy and procedures and assist in managing employee performance issues.
Support line managers to manage and resolve employee complaints. Maintain required records.
Maintain human resources record keeping and ensure that records are complete, current, retrievable, and held securely.
Assist the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Executive & Business Support to implement organisational development initiatives as required.
Model and promote Westcare’s values and mission both within and externally to the organisation.
Promote and ensure adherence to WHS policies and procedures.
Identify, assist in developing, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in human resources related policies, systems, and processes.
Criteria
A positive and supportive attitude to working with people with a disability.
Qualification in Human Resources management or a related field.
Previous end-to-end recruitment experience and/or previous HR experience.
Proven understanding of the legal framework for employment in Australia.
A high standard of written work.
Demonstrated high standard of ethical behaviour.
Ability to work to a deadline and manage multiple competing priorities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of seniority with friendliness and professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
