Position Overview

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented, personable and solution-focused Human Resources & Payroll Officer to join our small and dynamic HR team in a 6 month, part time (4 days per week), fixed term parental leave cover position, with the view for ongoing employment. In this Head Office-based role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, supporting HR operations and contributing to the overall employee experience within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing:

Process weekly payroll using TANDA and XERO, for up to 100 employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant legislation and modern awards.
Manage leave requests, including the preparation of leave reports and ensuring accurate leave balances
Support payroll audits as requested, providing accurate data and reports.
HR Administration:

Generate and analyse payroll reports and provide statistical data as required to support decision-making.
Process employee resignations, including finalising resignation acceptances and managing final payments.
Assist with the recruitment, selection and onboarding process for new employees.
Issue employment variations and HR notifications, ensuring all changes are documented and communicated effectively.
Provide assistance with employee management using the company’s HR systems, including resetting passwords, processing role changes and updating rosters.
Support other HR tasks as required to ensure the smooth functioning of the HR department.
Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain key relationships within the business to support HR initiatives and ensure employee needs are met.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless HR and Payroll operations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required

Tertiary Qualified in Human Resource Management
Experience using TANDA and XERO payroll functions (desirable)
Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards, ensuring that you remain up to date on employment law and compliance requirements.
High attention to detail and level of accuracy with processing payroll
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to analyse and communicate financial information effectively
Personal Attributes

Ability to work autonomously, while building collaborative relationships.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
A proactive and solution-focused attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
