Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR & Safety Coordinator to provide maternity leave coverage. This role will independently manage day-to-day human resources and safety coordination functions while supporting both employees and leadership.
This position is well suited to someone who is organized, confident, and comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
· Manage full cycle recruitment and onboarding for plant and office roles
· Administer employee benefits, Group RRSP, and Short-Term Disability claims
· Provide employee relations support including conflict resolution and performance discussions
· Coordinate terminations and layoffs in compliance with provincial legislation
· Prepare employment verification and other HR related documentation
· Maintain accurate employee records and ensure policy compliance
· Support and maintain HRIS/Payroll system functions, including employee data updates, documentation and basic troubleshooting
· Work with affiliate companies, providing support to their business as required
Health & Safety
· Manage WCB claims and support return-to-work coordination
· Assist with incident investigations and follow up corrective actions
· Lead Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and toolbox talks
· Maintain safety records, statistics and reporting
· Support external COR audit and maintain client prequalification systems (ISNetworld, Avetta)
· Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment
· Work with affiliate companies, providing support to their business as required
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment
· Post secondary education in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
· Strong understanding of provincial employment and occupational health & safety legislation
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Assets
· COR experience
· Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems and compliance platforms
· Exposure to payroll processes or accounting principles is considered an asset
