These individuals offer guidance and support to help clients optimise their workforce, enhance employee engagement, and drive organisational effectiveness. Those in workforce strategy at PwC will specialise in providing strategic consulting services to help organisations optimise their workforce and talent management strategies. You will work closely with clients to analyse workforce trends, develop workforce planning strategies, and design talent acquisition, development, and retention programmes to align with business objectives and drive organisational success.

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director to lead our HR of the Future practice. This role is integral to enhancing our clients' human resources capabilities, enabling them to navigate the evolving business landscape effectively.


As a Director, you will drive strategic initiatives, leverage digital solutions, and guide organizations in adopting forward-thinking HR practices. You will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

50 to 70% of your time: Lead our talented PwC professionals on high-profile engagements across diverse and challenging opportunities in areas such as:

People & Talent Strategy

HR Function Effectiveness and Design

HR Organization Design

HR Technology Assessment and Roadmap (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft, etc.)

Workforce Planning & Analytics

Skills-Based Organization and Economy

30 to 50% of your time: Play a senior role in growing our practice and our market presence

Contribute to and implement the strategic vision for the HR of the Future practice, aligning with PwC’s overall goals and market demands

Build and mentor a team of high-performing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, entrepreneurship, continuous learning, and excellence

Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, publishing insights and speaking at industry events to position PwC as a leader in HR transformation

Oversee the development and deployment of cutting-edge HR technology solutions and methodologies, including AI, data analytics, and digital platforms, to optimize HR processes and decision-making

Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, expanding PwC’s reach and influence within the HR domain

Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide seamless integration of HR solutions with broader business strategies and objectives

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

Extensive professional consulting experience, leading teams and delivering service in industries such as Energy, Utilities, Public Sector, Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing and Telecom

You demonstrate analytical thinking and produce high quality deliverables that create sustainable value. You lead business development activities including the production of proposals and attending client presentations.

You adhere to guiding people and organization practices and methodologies. You are ambitious in building your technical depth and breadth.

You communicate (written and verbal) with impact, build relationships with an open mind and are passionate about client service excellence.

You engage productively in complex, changing environments.

A self starter, you inspire and lead teams and contribute to the development of thought leadership.

The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada.

Demonstrated experience of HR function transformation in either a consulting or in-house capacity in a leadership role.

Exposure to cloud-based technology implementations from an HR or Modern Workplace perspective.

Experience leading all aspects of client consulting engagements

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
