The Director of Human Resources (HR) for India acts as a key geographical focal point and provides HR support across India. The role is responsible for driving geographical results across all Business Units (BUs), providing business partnering support to the BUs leadership teams and being accountable for leading the coordination and delivery of activities across all BUs. The objective of this role is to maintain business continuity through being a single point of contact for the business in each India geography into the workings of the Agile Team. The incumbent acts as the "connection" between the business and maintains strategic involvement (i.e. through regular contact and meetings), ensuring that the function is proactive and anticipates the needs of the business. Providing leadership to the P&O Agile team in India, key areas of focus in this role include; - using a project management approach to gather accurate information and data analytics to support decision making - providing advice and counsel in effective people management practices - ensuring that operations and processes within their area of responsibility are aligned to the overall business strategy, in line with relevant regulations, laws and best practice - supporting the BU leaders across the entire employee life-cycle: delivers employee engagement; talent priorities; workforce planning and resourcing; builds organisational effectiveness; leads change management; and mitigates risk through effective employee relations - accountable for all aspects of people in their area of responsibility, supported by professional services team and the global shared services team, and centres of expertise such as Reward, Resourcing and People Development - responsible for coaching leadership to develop people and skills within their area of responsibility - working closely with the Resourcing team to ensure capacities of flexible resource pools are managed in the best interest of the company, balancing business and people interests - developing a high-performing HR team within the Agile Pool with strong business partnering skills to provide innovative solutions to support leaders across the entire employee life-cycle - Degree level qualification in HR or business management preferred - Experienced HR manager/Snr Business Partner with strong business sense/business experience - Excellent management and prioritization skills to manage and staff the employees in the pool and achieve the objectives and KPls previously defined - Experience of managing change, putting high emphasis on co-operation and business partnership across the company - Strong rigor and maturity, to stand discussions/escalations with senior stakeholders Experience of: - Changing environment - Established and achieved challenging performance targets - Demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and development - Demonstrated technical excellence - Presenting solutions to customers and working in partnership to deliver Personal Attributes: - Exceptional relationship building skills who can connect, establish and maintain effective working relationships - Relates well with others; considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of different people in different situations, is tactful, compassionate and sensitive, and treats others with respect.
