About Role

The HSP aims to build the skills and knowledge for social and economic well-being of clients. It delivers Settlement Services to Clients through a tailored, needs-based case management approach. The relationship with the Case Manager is the foundation on which the HSP case management process is based, working in partnership with Clients and other service provider personnel, case workers, and professionals involved in supporting the Client.



About You

As an HSP Housing Team Leader, you will monitor and administer the day-to-day delivery of quality Housing services within the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) to HSP clients in coordination with other relevant stakeholders and lead the housing services team to deliver core services of On-Arrival Accommodation, Initial Accommodation Support, Long Term Accommodation and Crisis Accommodation. Your goal will be to drive change and improvement within the team.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the direct report, including coaching, mentoring, performance, recognition, and development
Ensure compliance with relevant awards, agreements, and related organisational policies and procedures
Foster a supportive team environment where there is a focus on professional standards, motivating people to do their best, managing people for success in their job,s and building capability
Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to the team during client crises, including problem-solving skills, high-level client intervention skills, advocacy skills, and knowledge of the service sector
Identify gaps in services in collaboration with the Regional Coordinator and relevant stakeholders and propose strategies to address these.
Ensure staff work within funding and service agreement requirements through active monitoring and problem-solving
Contribute to the development and implementation of annual business/work plans
Provide monthly reports to the Housing Coordinator in relation to team's performance on service delivery to clients, client outcomes, KPIs, documentation of services on SSI's internal database and (DHA) HSP systems, staff workload, Budget, and WH&S.

Essential Criteria

Diploma of Community Services, Bachelor of Property, Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Social work and related real-estate experience
Ability to work under pressure
Time management skills
Ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge and understanding of the refugee settlement process
Experience in tenancy agreements and social housing services
Experience representing organisations at Tribunal
Experience working with complex case support, homelessness and domestic violence services
