We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in India. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. This position requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of Indian accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), ensuring accuracy and completeness. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Indian tax laws and regulations. Prepare and file tax returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts.Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Conduct periodic audits to identify and address any control deficiencies.Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.Audit Support: Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during annual audits. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and ensure timely completion of audit activities.Cash Management: Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and minimize financial risk. Monitor bank transactions, reconcile accounts, and oversee cash disbursements and receipts.Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance on technical matters and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the finance team.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of (X) years in a corporate accounting environment.Expertise in Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP, SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Excel. Experience with ERP implementation is a plus.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting and analysis.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of effectively leading and developing a team.
