In this critical role, you will play a key part in executing the sensing roadmap for the next generations of Apple’s Inductive Power Technologies, providing customers with the best wireless charging experience in the industry across products such as MagSafe, iPhone, iPad, and Watch. This is a close knit, team oriented environment where you’ll be working on industry and standards leading technologies.

Description
As the engineering program manager you will oversee and coordinate specifying, developing, characterizing, integrating, and validating wireless charging sub-systems inside of products. The Power Tech EPM team features a collaborative environment with other multi-functional teams such as battery, thermals, and system architecture teams to facilitate system integration and multi-functional communication for the inductive sub-system. Engineering excellence, technical curiosity, pro activeness, innovation, and thoroughness are expected and encouraged. Working without constraints to design and ship innovative products with best-in-class technologies and user experiences is the main goal of this sensing technology team at Apple. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD INCLUDE:

Lead and align multi-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, software, and firmware engineering to deliver best in class charging solutions.

Act as a liaison between multi-functional teams such as battery, thermal, and system integration teams to ensure tight coordination and communication.

Coordinate and work closely with firmware and software teams that enable charging control and algorithms for the wireless charging subsystem.

Help deliver executive (VP level) communication/presentations and drive the decision-making process.

Define the program plan/schedule and manage program execution to integrate the wireless sub-system into Apple products such as iPhone, iPad, and Watch. Efficiently and effectively react to unexpected changes in the plan due to outside influences and/or issues that arise.

Work with suppliers to manage and support engineering development builds leading to mass production, tracking yields, addressing issues, and facilitating communication.

Work with internal and system teams to keep track of engineering activities such as performance validation, yield optimization, and failure analysis coordination while proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Support internal proof-of-concept hardware and software development for new application investigations.

Work with engineering management to define the wireless charging roadmap.

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and planning skills.
Ability to work on strategic tasks and solve for ambiguous, open ended goals
Solid problem-solving, failure analysis, and debugging skills
Familiarity with power systems and experience with FW/HW interactions
Master’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or physics

Minimum Qualifications
Product development or engineering experience shipping consumer electronic systems, semiconductor, or other electronic hardware
5 years of experience in Technical Program Management
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in physics or engineering field
Curiosity and action oriented approach
