The Role
We are looking for an Employee and Industrial Relations Specialist to join our central Human Resources- IR/ER team. The role is a 12 month fixed term contract role, working on Workforce Management projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Employee and Industrial Relations specialist to deliver IR/ER expertise across Toll Group across Australia & New Zealand.
This role will provide industrial, and employee relations leadership experience, strategic and solutions focused advice and support to Workforce Management projects and initiatives.
As an Employee and Industrial Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for interpreting various awards and managing collective bargaining agreements. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing employee engagement and working collaboratively with the project team.
This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland or Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for providing employee and industrial relations advice for Toll Group and its associated entities.
Proven experience in review and development of instrument interpretations across complex business landscapes, industrial disputes, demonstrated through advocacy, negotiation and persuasion skills
Responsible for evaluating adherence to key requirements and accurate interpretation of awards and agreements and delivery of advice to specific initiatives and workforce projects
Liaise with and support relevant specialist teams and the business to provide appropriate, accurate and timely industrial and employee relations advice
Provide appropriate, accurate and timely advice on ad-hoc queries regarding interpretations of industrial instruments and implementation including best practice.
Provide weekly reports on status of matters raised. Where required, provide a brief to external or internal stakeholders where matters need to be escalated
Proven conceptual, analytical and innovative problem-solving skills that results in client focused solutions
Proven experience in building constructive relationships to negotiate and deliver outcomes for the organisation
Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation
Qualifications-
Previous experience creating business proposals which address frequently occurring and complex ER, HR and IR issues
Relevant experience in providing advice on workplace, industrial and employee relations matters
Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
Customer orientated, good people skills and able to work with people at all levels
Communicates and interacts regularly and transparently with employees and team members; disseminates information in a timely manner
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resource Management, Industrial/Employee Relations, Employment Law or related discipline from a recognised University are highly desirable
