Intersex Education Lead- Remote Working
Reports to Business Manager
We are looking for an Intersex Health Educator to join our team and help our organisation design and deliver Intersex Health resources, programmes, and training for Aotearoa New Zealand.
Based: Remote Working (Seek forces us to select a location)
Hours: 0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) Pay Rate: $30 Per hour
Responsibilities
Content Creation
Creating a 101 intersex education program utilising the created 101 education research
Creating variation specific education resources (digital and physical)
Create resources for a range of audiences
Education Delivery
Run trainings for community members, whānau, groups, and professionals
Evaluation, Review and Revision of educational content in collaboration with key stakeholders, IA board of trustees and clients.
Run Workhops and/or webinares for a range of audiences
Overview
This is a permanent part time role intended to create lasting change for intersex peoples across Aotearoa New Zealand. Intersex Aotearoa aims to be the peak body supporting intersex/ira tangata.
To achieve this we want to create a team which is supportive, collaborative and intentional in creating a future for intersex/ira tangata which embraces diversity.

Qualifications
Level 5 Qualification in Health Education, Promotion, or relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
Understanding of different health promotion models, such as Te Whare Tapa Wha Fono Fale and their application.
Experience creating educational resources for a range of audiences
Commitment to confidentiality
Ability to learn and understand the complexity of being intersex/ira tangata/variations of *** characteristics and the social, legal and health issues they face.
Experience dealing with people on sensitive or highly emotional matters.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with high level of attention to detail.
Confident IT user, including excel, PowerPoint, word, email, zoom.
Excellent self-management skills including working effectively without direct supervision
Desirable
Working knowledge of health promotion and education
Experience working in community service or non-profit.
Understanding or familiar with Rauemi Atawhai
