PCD Studios is seeking an Interior Architect with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience for our New York showroom: • Formulate preliminary space plans & 2D & 3D design concept studies & sketches that integrate the client’s needs & are based on knowledge of the principles of interior design & interior architecture • Oversee the implementation of interior design solutions for each project from the concept stage through installation. • Formulate preliminary space plans & 2D & 3D design concept studies & sketches that integrate the client’s needs & are based on knowledge of the principles of interior design & interior architecture. • Research & analysis of the client’s goals & requirements; & development of documents, drawings, & diagrams that outline those needs. • Ability to interact effectively with the design team on multiple projects. • Confirm that preliminary space plans & design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, & meet applicable building codes. • Prepare specifications & schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting, & finishes. • Prepare construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details & specifications, power & communications locations; reflected ceiling plans & lighting designs; materials & finishes; & furniture layouts. Ability to field measure & document existing building conditions. • Coordination & collaboration with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including but not limited to architects, structural, mechanical, & electrical engineers, & various specialty consultants. • Sourcing & specification of materials. • Research & create visual presentations. • Specification writing.
