Description Business Information: The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. Mission Statement: Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including: • Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. • Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. • Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project. May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. • A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. • Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Your Responsibilities: • Responsible for gathering system requirements working together with application architects and owners. • Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources. • Discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings. • Ensure adherence to change management control procedures by gaining approval from the process management steering committee prior to implementation. • Mentor team members that are junior and provide training as necessary to advance the level of skills within the team. • Perform evaluation for root cause of Incidents and instigate actions to correct both the Incident and the underlying cause. • Perform maintenance activities within an agreed life cycle for allocated resources maintenance including adherence to agreed design, implementation, testing and documentation standards. • Proactively propose and implement improvement solutions to common problems. • Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business. Your Background: • Bachelor’s degree in B.E or B.Tech. • 2-3 years' experience in an IT Service Delivery. • Experience in technical systems administration as it relates to application administration and services offered including. • Excellent knowledge of Windows or Unix system administration. • Excellent knowledge of Database fundamentals
