Job description
Job Title: Database Administration
Project Location: Raleigh/Remote, NC, United States
Job Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled Database Administrators (Level III) to join us. The ideal candidates will have substantial experience supporting Oracle RDBMS, Oracle eBusiness Suite, and NoSQL databases (such as Cassandra), as well as middleware components in enterprise-scale environments.
This position requires flexibility to work on-call, overnight, and weekend hours as needed to support production patching, vulnerability remediation, and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, upgrade, patch, and remediate vulnerabilities for Oracle RDBMS on Linux servers.
• Administer and maintain complex multi-node Oracle RAC environments.
• Perform regular backups using RMAN, monitor via OEM, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery compliance.
• Manage Oracle eBusiness Suite, including integrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Support NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, including schema design, performance tuning, patching, and complex query development on Linux/Windows.
Middleware & Application Server Support
• Administer and support enterprise middleware components including:
• Apache Tomcat, WildFly, Oracle Fusion Middleware, IBM WebSphere, Apache HTTP Server.
• Messaging systems such as IBM MQ, Kafka, Zookeeper.
• Container and orchestration platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Rancher.
• Implement and manage CI/CD automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Linux Shell Scripting, and JYTHON.
• Monitor system performance using AppDynamics, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Splunk, and Neustar.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 8–12 years of relevant database administration experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in a production environment.
• Strong expertise in Oracle 19c, OEM, RMAN, and multi-node RAC databases.
• Experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite on Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.
• Exposure to PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• If the degree is not in a directly related field, 4 additional years of relevant experience are required.
• Professional certifications in Oracle, NoSQL, or Cloud Platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) are a plus.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
• Standard hours with flexibility for on-call, off-shift, and weekend support.
• Overtime must be pre-approved in writing; reimbursed at straight time only.
