Responsibilities
The Janitor position is responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the manufacturing facility performing general cleaning tasks as well as maintaining non-operational stations within the facility
The Janitor will maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and necessary equipment to perform job functions
The position will follow safety procedures and guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals as well as using personal protective equipment as appropriate within the facility
Communication is essential to performing job functions with high standards and reporting barriers to management relating to safety and performance output
Employees are expected to be open to working a variety of hours depending on the business need and production schedule
Typical hours for this position are 9:00AM - 1:00PM Monday - Thursday
Performing daily facility sanitation procedures by carrying out assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner
Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, breakroom areas, office and other common areas including tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
Wipe down surfaces within office area as well as windows and other glass areas
Disinfections major touchpoints daily such as knobs, handles, vending machines, and timeclocks
Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper disposal of waste and cardboard as well as notifying management when dumpsters are full
Monitoring and maintaining water cooler stations, replacing empty coolers, wiping down and sanitizing dispensers daily
Monitoring and cleaning safety stations throughout the facility including eye wash stations, first aid cabinets, and fire extinguishers
Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, toiletries and kitchenette supplies throughout the facility as well as ensuring organization and proper storage
Maintaining the 5S organization established within the facility
Perform routine inspections of designated areas to ensure spaces are maintained according to sanitation standards
Adheres to company safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and addresses concerns with management
Continuously observe and evaluate work areas to identify opportunities for improvement
Maintains regular and reliable attendance in accordance with established company policies
Other duties as assigned
Standing often for extended periods of time
Safely lifting objects over 25 lbs
Temperature within manufacturing plant may vary between 60 to 90 degrees, and can occasionally exceed 100 degrees
Exposure to intermittent or constant sounds generated by equipment

Requirements

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proven experience in commercial cleaning preferred
