Electrical Components Trading Company is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Japanese/English Bilingual Accountant for a short-term assignment supporting our finance and audit teams during the year-end closing and audit period. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting support, internal control testing, and audit coordination.
This is a temporary short term contract position, starting in September.
Temp Japanese/English Bilingual Accountant Key Responsibilities:
Assist with annual financial closing tasks, including data compilation, journal entry support, and reconciliation tracking.
Support J-SOX internal control testing, including gathering supporting documents and documenting test results in both English and Japanese.
Assist in financial statement (FS) and J-SOX audits, including sample-based testing and coordination with internal and external auditors.
Prepare and follow up on audit confirmation letters related to inventory balances and balance reconciliations.
Prepare and follow up on audit confirmation letters related to accounts receivable (AR) and balance reconciliations.
Organize, label, and manage collected audit evidence and financial data for internal and external review.
Communicate and collaborate with Japanese and U.S.-based teams, ensuring clear documentation and bilingual reporting where necessary.
Other duties as assigned
Temp Japanese/English Bilingual Accountant Qualifications:
First language level in Japanese (read, speak and write).
Business level or above level of English (read, speak and write).
Minimum 2 years of staff accounting, audit, or finance experience in Trading, or manufacturing industry preferred.
Familiarity with J-SOX or internal control frameworks is a plus.
Familiar with import/export documents management
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines during high-volume periods.
Maintain accurate records and ensure that all tasks comply with relevant accounting and internal control standards.
