Job description, work day and responsibilities
Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is currently seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to join our diverse and dynamic team. The successful candidate will bring their skills and understanding of construction codes to oversee and work on day-to-day carpentry projects on site. Projects include but are not limited to timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, gazebo, and shelter construction. This is a seasonal position, Monday through Saturday, Local to the Edmonton and area.

We seek an ideal candidate with extensive knowledge of the construction industry, particularly concerning concrete work, forming, and framing, as well as the construction of stairs, walls, and fences. The Journeyman Carpenter will undertake some or all of the following tasks:
Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine the materials and dimensions specified.
Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts
Construct wood forms for concrete construction projects including building foundations.
Construct wooden framing including walls and floors.
Install roof systems, partitions, and stairs.
Move material on the construction site, help clean-up work sites.
Maintain and clean tools/equipment.
Interpret and apply information found in drawings, specifications, building codes, and /or receive instructions from a supervisor.
The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
Maintain and ensure safe working conditions.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment.
Physically fit with an ability to work, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time.
Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs often.
Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and supervisors.
Must have a commitment to safe work practices and be able to adhere to safety policies.
Valid driver's license with clean driving abstract and reliable transportation to job sites.
Tech savvy, comfortable using an iPhone or android (app) Nektar
