Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing multiple projects at various stages of completion for industrial rotating equipment. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations. Working collaboratively with Project Engineers, Designers, Proposal Sales, Production, and Manufacturing teams, the Project Manager provides leadership, communication, and oversight to ensure successful project outcomes and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and report on all project deliverables, including budget, revenue, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans to meet required deliverables.
Track project progress and provide regular internal and external status updates.
Measure and report on project successes and failures to support continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding commercial, delivery, and scheduling matters.
Manage customer expectations and proactively expedite customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal resources to maintain production flow.
Prepare, negotiate, and issue change orders for scope adjustments, schedule changes, additions, or deletions.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accurate resource allocation and schedule planning.
Collaborate with the Scheduler to ensure accurate project timelines and shop-loading requirements as applicable.
Coordinate with the Accounting Department regarding invoicing, payments, and financial tracking.
Review purchase orders and contracts to determine warranty obligations and ensure alignment with all parties.
Open and manage warranty claims, acting as the primary customer contact through to resolution.
Initiate and manage vendor warranty claims with Chamco’s suppliers.
Work closely with assigned project team members to ensure all deliverables are met.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and vendors through clear and effective communication.
Qualifications Required
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following:
Professional Engineering Degree, Technologist Diploma, or Business Degree with a technical background.
Preferred 2 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Technical background in rotating equipment or equipment packaging design is an asset.
