JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
We are currently looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team at our Brooklyn, NS or Bedford, NS office.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your work will include, but not be limited to the following:
Accounts Receivable – maintain customer accounts, reconcile general ledger account
Accounts Payable – receive and enter invoices as they are delivered
Purchase Orders – liaise with procurement and operations with respect to creation of purchase orders and maintenance of PO system
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
Complete and file monthly and quarterly HST reports
Assist with various reporting projects as necessary
Maintain current knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal developments, laws and policies that may affect the financial operations of the organization
Ensure proper compliance with Health Canada and other regulatory requirements, and company policies
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
University Degree or College Diploma in related field
2+ years’ experience in AR, AP and bank reconciliations
Advanced data entry skills with high level of accuracy.
Advanced Excel and Word and proficiency in the use of enterprise reporting systems
Skill Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment and also comfortable working independently
Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
Thorough documentation abilities
Adaptability and flexibility, ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice
Excellent comprehension, communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of the ******** Industry is an asset
Knowledge of the GMP and GPP is an asset
