Job Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures, and experience with cash handling and record keeping. This role will be responsible for collecting cash, issuing receipts, reconciling cash, depositing funds in the bank, and maintaining spreadsheets.
Responsibilities:
Collect cash from customers and issue receipts
Reconcile cash collected against receipts issued
Deposit cash and checks into bank accounts
Record deposits and withdrawals in spreadsheets
Maintain accurate and complete records of cash transactions
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports
Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (preferred)
1-2 years of experience in cash handling and record keeping
Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
