The Kaua'i Region Finance Department provides a variety of fiscal services including bookkeeping, billing and collections, budgetary control, purchasing and inventory, and informs administration of financial condition. The Financial Dept. provides general accounting services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory. The Finance Department also maintains financial data for budget preparation, implementation, and control.
The Accountant is responsible to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the Accounting functions of all Kaua'i Region facilities including but not limited to: all aspects of all regional general accounting procedures, month-end closing, and reporting analytical review and cost accounting, accounts receivable, collections and payments, accounts payable, and payroll, and leave records, etc. This position requires completion of a large volume of work within a limited period of time. This position will be required to report to other facilities on a regular basis as determined in order to perform all of HHSC Kaua'i Region's accounting aspects.
LOCATION: This position located in the Fiscal Services department of Kaua'i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH) Kaua'i Region, Hawai'i Health Systems Corporation, a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawai'i.
The Fiscal Services department provides general accounting services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll; maintains financial data for budget preparation, implementation, and control; and is responsible for consolidated and individual financial reporting.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year of college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
Experience: One (1) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which involved maintaining general journals and general ledger accounts and related books and accounts, and preparing balance sheets and profit and loss statements and related accounting and financial reports. Experience of this nature may be gained by performing duties as a principal bookkeeper, or other responsible work requiring the preparation and/or analysis of financial statements and accounting reports.
MUST BE COVID 1+ Vaccinated.
