About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Product Developer to lead the end-to-end development of apparel and accessory collections. This role combines, technical expertise, and strong vendor/production management to ensure products are delivered with excellence in fit, quality, cost, and execution. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to bring innovative, on-brand products to market.
Responsibilities
Drive the full product development lifecycle from concept to final production handoff.
Partner with Design to interpret concepts into technically accurate, production-ready products.
Ensure all styles meet brand standards for quality, construction, fit, and cost targets. Partner with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production to align on product intent and seasonal direction.
Work with Sourcing team to ensure costing accuracy.
Technical Design & Fit
Work on technical packages regarding BOMs, measurements, construction details, and artwork placement.
Lead fit sessions and approve fit comments; collaborate with design teams to refine prototypes.
Analyze garment construction for efficiencies, durability, sustainability, and manufacturability.
Ensure grading, pattern accuracy, and spec consistency across product categories
Research and source new fabrics, trims, treatments, and sustainable materials.
Must be able to troubleshoot and have knowledge of material performance, hand-feel, shrinkage, colorfastness, and testing requirements.
Communicates with overseas factories
Oversee testing, compliance, and product safety requirements across categories.
Assist and approve color, fabric quality, lab dips, strike-offs, and pre-production samples.
Qualifications
4+ years of apparel product development experience, preferably across multiple categories (knits, wovens, sleepwear, baby and adult apparel, accessories, etc.).
Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, fabrics, and trims.
Pattern grading understanding and experience.
Experience working with overseas vendors (Asia preferred).
Proficient with Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and technical sketching.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Knowledge of compliance testing is an asset.
