Job Description
The Junior Designer will play an essential role in designing and developing innovative, high-quality collections that reflect Hommey’s unique style and connect with our customers, working in close collaboration with the Design Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to contribute to a fast-growing brand, balancing imaginative design with commercial success.
Responsibilities
Create innovative and commercially viable product designs that align with Hommey’s vision, target market, and quality standards
Build strong relationships with factories and suppliers, negotiating costs and timelines effectively
Research global trends and local markets to inform and inspire design directions
Conduct competitor analysis to ensure Hommey’s products stand out with a unique edge
Manage the product development process from concept to in-store, meeting deadlines and margin goals while proactively addressing risks
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge across various product types
Develop detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and fabric/trim specifications
Deliver clear and engaging range presentations to the broader team, including CEO, marketing, finance, and operations
Collaborate with the Product Technician to uphold quality standards and meet legal requirements
About You
2-3 years’ experience in product design, ideally in homewares or a related field
Excellent communication skills to share and explain design concepts
Familiarity with garment patterns, product packaging, and labelling
A knack for balancing creativity with commercial practicality
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design software
