There is an opportunity to join our team as a Junior Project Accountant.
Hours are Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The position is full-time / permanent.
Responsibilities include:
Review of all invoices received for accuracy, proper approvals and backup;
Process and post all invoices in the ERP accounting system, including processing cheque payments;
Provide information on status of invoices/payments to suppliers or internal staff as requested;
Maintain and update the A/P filing system including set up of new projects;
Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy;
Support with accounts payable inquiries / calls;
Prepare and reconcile holdback payments;
Assist with month/quarter end closings;
Assist with tax remittances;
Education and Experience:
Post secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline;
5+ years of local accounting experience;
Experience in the construction industry and cost accounting is ideal;
Previous experience with Jonas accounting software is preferred;
Key Competencies:
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
Advanced skills using Microsoft Office;
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints;
Can manage a multitude of files and complex data;
A strategic thinker and problem solver;
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
