As a Construction Survey Assistant your role will involve working with a survey party chief to stake out construction sites and conduct construction survey layouts for a variety of municipal projects. This position is a seasonal role but the ideal candidate would become a permanent, full-time staff member. This role will begin when the ground thaws, we anticipate mid-April 2026.
Your skills and qualifications
Our preferred candidate has 0-2 years of practical experience in the municipal land development field. Training will be provided on the job.
In addition, we are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
Ability to work well with others and in a team environment
Technical and mathematical skills
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Ability to arrange transportation to our office or to job sites
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime if required
Steel-toed safety footwear and appropriate clothing is required
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Your Responsibilities
Assisting survey party chief in providing survey layouts for site grading, water mains, storm and sanitary sewers, lot services, and roadways
Preparing grade sheets
Reviewing construction survey plans
Responsible for safe operation of tools and equipment
