Job Description
Hamilton CBD
Revit is essential
From sketch to consent
About the Business
Our client, Diverse Design Limited (DDL Architecture), is a Hamilton CBD architecture studio delivering smart, practical design with a strong documentation standard. You’ll be close to the action, working directly with the Director.
About the Role
Day‑to‑day, you’ll move work from brief to build by:
Producing precise construction documentation that clearly demonstrates NZBC and relevant standards compliance.
Preparing, lodging, and tracking building consents, coordinating inputs with consultants and council.
Attending design meetings and site visits; keeping clean records, notes and revisions across each job.
Interpreting plans, regulations and codes; preparing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings.
Collaborating with construction managers, architects, surveyors, and wider project teams to keep work flowing.
You’ll work primarily on 1–2 storey residential consent documentation, with space to grow into commercial exposure when it pops up. Revit is essential.
About you
You’re a detail‑driven draughtsperson who takes pride in clear, buildable sets. Does this resonate?
2+ years’ experience in architectural drafting/technician roles.
Confident Autodesk Revit user (templates, families, schedules, sheet sets, exports).
Working knowledge of NZBC, council processes, and consent pathways; comfortable interacting with consultants and council.
Solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials; able to pivot into light commercial as required.
Strong organiser: you track decisions, manage revisions, and keep packages crisp and coordinated.
Why You’ll Love This Role
Work directly with the Director, fast feedback, fast learning.
Bread‑and‑butter residential that sharpens your documentation craft, plus the odd commercial curveball to keep it interesting.
Hamilton CBD with close‑by parking, easy in, easy out.
We’d love to hear from you if this sounds like your next opportunity!
Apply online and supply a short portfolio or sample drawing set or give Sharon Jefferies a call on 0272XXXXXX to discuss the position.
You must have the right to work in New Zealand.
