We are a small private Muncie (IN) school startup that is attempting to offer a new career path for educators -- and new educational options to parents. As noted above, we offer the potential for serious salary improvements for teachers. The goal is to treat teachers like other professional service providers: lawyers, doctors, accountants, architects, etc. As with other professional service providers, our teachers have creative control over their in-class product, control over which parents/students they wish to serve, how many students they want to serve, how many hours they want to work, and much money they want to make. We are able to pay teachers more than is traditional because we are ruthless in cutting school overhead and instead moving these overhead expenses to increase teacher compensation. Our goal is to offer the most attractive compensation package currently available to teachers because we want to attract the best teacher talent.
