Job description
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact as a teacher in the fall of 2025? At Teach For America (TFA), we’re more than just teachers. We’re a network of 70,000 leaders committed to driving systemic change by addressing educational inequities. Our mission is deeply rooted in equity, and we envision a future where every child has access to an excellent education.

As a member of our two-year teaching corps, you’ll work as a full-time educator employed by a school district in an underserved community of your choosing across the U.S. You’ll teach PK-12 in one or more core subjects, including science, math, computer science, STEM, humanities, ELA, reading, special education, Spanish/bilingual education, ESL, history, and social studies.

Note: We’re seeking mission-aligned candidates who are passionate about equity and are driven to lead systemic change. This program is not primarily a teaching pipeline to fill open teaching roles or to fast track certification. This role will begin in the Fall of the 2025 school year. We place corps members in East Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Jose, Oakland, Richmond, and San Francisco.

Benefits:
• Up to $6+,000/year full-time salary and benefits (including dental, health, life insurance, retirement plan, vision, and paid vacation)
• Access to financial support offerings to help you until your first paycheck, including:
• A Baseline Regional Stipend for all incoming corps members, based on region
• An additional $3,000 Pell/EAD Stipend for Pell Grant recipients or EAD holders
• The option to apply for additional need-based support, including grants and zero-interest loans*
• Additional benefits through AmeriCorps (including federal loan forbearance, interest accrual payments, and education awards such as the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award)
• Guidance on obtaining an initial teaching license before entering the classroom and full teacher certification where state regulations require
• Master’s degree options
• Intensive teaching and leadership training and classroom preparation
• Camaraderie and lifelong connections with people who share your values
• Access to a network of over 65,000 TFA alumni leaders across multiple fields and sectors
• Need-based packages are awarded based on demonstrated need and stipend amount.

Minimum Requirements:
• 2.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA or higher
• Bachelor’s degree (in any field of study)
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status
• Applicants do not need a background in education or teaching certification—all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome to apply
