About the team
Our Lubricants Team perform an important role by supporting a base of commercial customers across New Zealand with high quality Caltex Lubricants, providing both the products and the technical support to keep their businesses moving. We are ambitious with our goals in the Lubricants market and pride ourselves on the valuable partnerships we create with our customers.


About the role
Working as a Kaitaki Hononga Pakihi - Hekewaku Account Manager – Lubricants your customer base will be varied, from commercial workshops and civil contractors to big box retailers and will see you draw on your strong commercial acumen, stakeholder and relationship management and retailer to retailer experience to drive in particular our partnerships with large retailers.

You will have the opportunity to

Be responsible for business development, marketing and promotional calendars, customer relationship management and customer profitability management within your region
Own the development, profitability, and stakeholder management for the Z Retail and High St channels
Hold responsibility for achieving increased volume, revenue, credit/risk, and growth targets for allocated customer portfolio set within the overall Lubricants Sales Strategy.
Use your knowledge to lead RFP tenders, contract negotiation and account reviews including analysis of market trends and customer performance
Manage, support and advise an existing customer base ensuring trusting relationships and managing profitability to ensure retention
Work closely with the Lubricants Manager to create and implement sales strategies
Support and grow capability within the team
Work with the Lubricants Manager to manage our Lubricants distribution network
Travel and get out and about to our customer network!

What you’ll bring to Z

Significant experience in an Account or Sales Manager role with demonstrated experience of both building new business, maintaining existing relationships and achieving sales goals
Significant experience within retail and marketing sales with a deep understanding of retail drivers to create, implement, and manage promotional calendars and execution for our High St and Retail channels
The drive to seek out new opportunities and the experience and knowledge to convert these into loyal customers
Strong commercial acumen to work with key retail stakeholders and customers and proven capability in understanding how businesses operate, make informed decisions and drive profitability through strategic thinking and market awareness
Confidence with reviewing and negotiating contracts, identifying discrepancies, business risk or issues
A customer focus and the ability to design and deliver an exceptional Z experience
Boundless energy, determination and enthusiasm for driving success and growing the business!
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and form partnerships that support business success
The ability to support and mentor people and a genuine desire to bring others on the journey through knowledge sharing
Flexibility to commit to a role with regular travel and a clean driver’s license

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
