Kennel Assistant
Duties:
Provide excellent customer service to pet owners and visitors
Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel
Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
Administer medications as directed by kennel supervisor and/or kennel manager
Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the kennel supervisor
Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Experience:
Experience of an animal care environment preferred but full training can be given for the right candidate
Basic knowledge of animal behaviour and care
Qualifications related to animal care or behaviour are desirable
Ability to handle and lift heavy objects (up to 20 kilos)
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Hours
We are looking for a part-time member of staff to work 15-23 hours per week, over 2/3 days out of 7. This will include weekend and holiday working.
