Year 1 Teacher - Croydon
Location: CroydonContract: Full time / PermanentStart date: September 2026
Your new schoolHays is working closely with a trust that works with various schools around London. They are currently seeking a key stage 1 teacher for a year 1 class.Within this trust, there is a lot of space to grow as a teacher in your role, as well as a chance to move to their different schools around London.
Your role as a Year 1 Teacher
• Create and plan captivating lessons aligned with learning objectives.
• Set targets, considering students' prior knowledge and skills.
• Adhere to school and national assessment guidelines. Keep meticulous records and communicate student progress effectively.
• Supervise Learning Support Assistants and other classroom aides.
• Participate actively in primary school duties, overseeing playtimes and leading school-wide and class assemblies.
What you will need to succeed in the key stage 1 teaching job:A successful candidate will:
• Must hold QTS status.
• Have recent experience of working in primary schools in the UK.
• Have good interpersonal skills.
• Show good standards of professionalism, being well-organised and capable of working with policy and procedure to agreed timescales.
