Job Description
About Bananas
Bananas Art Studio is a hands-on creative space in Mar Vista where kids design, build, and make real art. Our birthday parties are energetic, well-run, and thoughtfully designed. Each event centers around a guided craft experience, with space for celebration and connection.
Position Overview
We’re hiring a part-time Kids Art Party Host / Lead to run our weekend birthday parties. This role is for someone with a genuinely upbeat, energetic presence who feels comfortable leading a room of kids, guiding a craft project from start to finish, and keeping the party moving smoothly.
You’ll be the point person during the event — setting the tone, leading the activity, and making sure everything on the pre-, during-, and post-party checklist gets done.
Schedule
Primarily weekends
Occasional holiday parties or special events
Responsibilities
Before the Party
Review the party plan and craft details
Prep materials and set up art stations
Make sure the studio is clean, organized, and guest-ready
Confirm supplies, seating, and timing are in place
During the Party
Welcome guests and lead the group with energy and clarity
Guide the featured craft project step-by-step
Keep kids engaged, supported, and on schedule
Coordinate transitions (craft time, food, cake, etc.)
Communicate clearly with parents as needed
Maintain a tidy and organized workspace throughout the event
After the Party
Oversee clean-up and reset the studio
Complete breakdown of materials and supplies
Return the space to ready-to-run condition for the next event
Check off all closing tasks on the event checklist
Qualifications
Outgoing, animated personality that naturally connects with kids
Comfortable speaking to and leading groups of children
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage time and keep events on track
Reliable, punctual, and self-directed
Experience leading kids’ activities, camps, classes, or events preferred
What Makes a Great Fit
You’re someone who can walk into a room and immediately lift the energy. You enjoy being “on,” guiding a creative project, and making sure both kids and parents feel taken care of. You notice when something needs to be wiped down, restocked, or reset without being asked.
If you’re looking for consistent weekend work in a creative, community-centered studio — and you like the pace and structure of running events — we’d love to hear from you.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 16 per week
Work Location: In person
