Job Title: Kinesiologist
Location: Calgary
Hours: Part Time
Status: Contractor
Program: Activate!
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Kinesiologist to join our interdisciplinary Activate! Program, designed to support individuals with mental health conditions. The Kinesiologist will deliver customized physical activity and behavioral activation programs aimed at reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. This role involves one-on-one sessions, both in-person and via videoconferencing, with a strong focus on education, functional goal setting, and lifestyle management.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to tailor exercise programs
• Educate clients on pacing, relaxation strategies, exercise principles and daily structure
• Provide individualized support to enhance physical and cognitive function
• Conduct sessions focused on improving sleep, self-esteem and overall well-being
• May be involved in providing either mentorship to other Kinesiologists and/or supervision to Kinesiology students
Minimum Qualifications:
• Member of the Alberta Kinesiology Association
• At least 1 yearof experience as a Kinesiologist within a similar responsible role and in a related type of work setting
