Role and Responsibilities
Your main objective is to cultivate a stellar customer experience by delivering exceptional service and upholding a clean, secure environment that fosters customer retention. Assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, overseeing quality assurance standards, and working collaboratively with the Deli/Bakery team for customer interaction are significant aspects of your role.
• Elevate the customer experience by providing exceptional service and offering product samples to introduce customers to new items.
• Safeguard the department's cleanliness and safety, while ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations.
• Correctly seal, mark, categorize, and track cheese items accordingly.
• Verify product quality through checking freshness and reviewing sell-by dates to minimize shrink.
• Notify clients about the current promotions and offers at the Cheese Shop while responding to any questions they may have about the products.
• Employ kitchen utensils and gear to measure and mix components according to recipe specifications.
• Supervise merchandise placement, tagging, and stock administration within the department, informing management of any discrepancies identified.
• Monitor and regulate temperatures in enclosures and refrigerators, ensuring that logs are maintained accurately.
• Enhance safety protocols by identifying and reporting any unsafe incidents or conditions.
• Collaborate effectively in a high-speed work setting and handle disagreements in a diplomatic manner.
Required Skills and Experience
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic arithmetic skills comprise the fundamental understanding of counting, addition, and subtraction.
• The ability to handle stressful situations with grace is commendable.
• Fulfillment of the educational prerequisites equivalent to those acquired during high school studies.
• Candidates with relevant retail industry experience are preferred.
• Knowing the department's products well to answer questions and suggest items to customers.
• The ability to adhere to guidance and seek aid when it is needed.
