Responsibilities
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients under the guidance of chefs or kitchen supervisors
• Support cooking activities by preparing basic dishes and following established recipes and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety and sanitation standards
• Handle food items safely, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control in accordance with food handling regulations
• Support meal service by setting up serving areas, replenishing supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of dishes
• Aid in catering events by organizing ingredients, preparing platters, and assisting with setup and cleanup
• Follow all safety protocols related to knife skills, food handling, and sanitation to ensure a safe working environment
Experience
• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
• Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations is advantageous
• Experience working in restaurants or the food industry demonstrates strong food handling skills and an understanding of kitchen workflows
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices is essential for maintaining high-quality standards
• Culinary experience or training in meal preparation enhances your ability to support diverse kitchen tasks effectively
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other utensils used in food preparation
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting busy kitchen environments
