About the Group
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Koorie Education Division, North Eastern Victoria Region, SRS. The Koorie Eduvcation Division is responsible for supporting North Eastern Victoria Region and will provide strategic advice on a range of policy and programs that support Koorie Learners.

The role of Koorie Education Manager offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues, consultative groups and community agencies to help improve outcomes for Koorie students across the South East Victoria Region.
In this role, you will work in collaboration with the Planning and Implementation Manager to:
Inform Koorie workforce professional practice in the implementation of Koorie Programs to improving student learning outcomes for all Koorie students
Ensure delivery of consistently high quality and culturally inclusive practices across the region for children and young people aged 0-18 years
Work with central Groups, Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups and other community agencies and departments to develop a region wide approach to improving student learning outcomes for all Koorie students
Support the implementation of other Koorie initiatives as appropriate (e.g. Koorie Academy of Excellence in the North West)
Work collaboratively with Koorie Education Managers in the other regions to ensure state-wide consistency of strategy implementation and professional practice of the Koorie workforce
Provide programmatic oversight and expertise to Koorie Education Coordinators and Koorie Education and Support Officers to ensure region wide consulting

Can you demonstrate strong skills in leadership and stakeholder engagement? We are looking for a candidate who can motivate others, build team commitment and deploy staff through effective workforce planning practices.
To succeed in this role, you will have the ability to plan strategically, to manage implementation and to work effectively with local Koorie communities, demonstrating extensive knowledge and understanding of Koorie culture, education and community needs.
You will be flexible and adaptable, able to demonstrate analytical, creative and conceptual thinking, and able to forge strong partnerships and relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications and Experience
Ability to develop, implement and monitor strategic plans and policies in line with departmental objectives.
Extensive understanding of Koorie culture, education and community needs
Proven ability to effectively engage and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification
The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Working With Children Check.
