Job Description
We are looking for a Database Engineer with good experience of 3-5 years in MySQL database technologies in a highly scalable environment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate superb technical competency in delivering mission-critical database platforms and services while ensuring the highest levels of scalability, availability, performance, and security.
Job Responsibilities :
- Deep understanding and experience on MYSQL DB.
- Design, implement and manage database infrastructure.
- Must have knowledge of setting MYSQL Query tuning, Replication and troubleshooting.
- Working with the Dev team to have an in-depth understanding of the application and advising query optimization.
- Must have good knowledge of Performance tuning of MYSQL databases.
- Understanding MYSQL Backup & Recovery and having experience in xtrabackup will have added advantage.
- Should have good experience in database monitoring and alert manager.
- Identifying observability gaps in database services, infrastructure and working with stake owners to fix it.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Extensive experience with Linux administration and good understanding of the various linux kernel subsystems (memory, storage, network etc).
- Expertise of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or other relevant Cloud Infrastructure solutions is a plus.
- Knowledge of Installation, configurations and maintenance of Mysql database.
- Experience in Provisioning MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations. Handle common database process, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Set up monitoring / alarming for production DB environments. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options. Expertise in designing and maintaining MySQL .
- Experience in Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, cluster management, Data durability, security, networking, and system crash analysis.
- Experience in setting up and operating Highly Available MySQL. Knowledge of scripting. Experience in working with Percona and innoDB engine.
Optional Skills And Qualifications :
- Automation using Python , Shell scripts and Chef/Puppet would be a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
